Short stay in Cardiff? Join the hunt for Easter eggs around the National Museum.

If you are visiting the Llyn Peninsula, hop down to the Dwyfor Ranch Rabbit farm to feed the Easter bunnies.

Rabbit Village is a must visit for families with a holiday cottage in Mid Wales.

Peppa Pig and her brother George, along with Ben and Holly from Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, are the star attractions at Folly Farm over Easter, perfectly placed for family holidays to West Wales. Active families can get involved in den building, duckling hunts and craft workshops at the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust in Llanelli.

The Wales Visitor Survey is undertaken every two years during the April-September period. It provides detailed profile information on UK Staying Visitors, Day Visitors and Overseas Visitors and a range of satisfaction ratings in relation to aspects of the visit.

The 2011 survey shows that among UK Staying Visitors, satisfaction with the natural environment was 9.33 (out of a possible 10), and 9.22 among Overseas Visitors.

For Overseas Visitors, friendliness of the people was the highest-rated aspect (9.32, compared with 9.10 in 2009) and second highest among UK Staying Visitors (9.17 compared with 8.86 in 2009).

The overall satisfaction with Wales as a place to visit is very high across all visitor types, the rating being 9.15, 9.05 and 8.97 among Day Visitors, UK Staying Visitors, and Overseas Visitors respectively.

Having been to Wales on holiday, the likelihood to recommend Wales was very high across all three groups: with 92% of both UK Staying and Day Visitors and 79% of Overseas saying they would ‘Definitely recommend Wales to a friend/relative’, and almost all of the remaining respondents saying that they would ‘Probably recommend Wales’.

Business Minister, Edwina Hart said:

“These results provide very positive feedback from visitors and provides evidence that there is a high level of satisfaction in respect of most aspects of the visit among current visitors. Having just launched our new marketing campaign it’s good to see that the holiday product we have to offer here in Wales lives up to the promise.”
